GEORGE FOOTBALL NEWS - Most soccer teams are playing preseason tournaments in preparation of the upcoming season of 2019/2020. The Lawaaikamp mini preseason tournament took place last weekend with Black Cats FC, Young Blues FC, Simunye FC and Park United FC participating. Young Blues defeated Simunye with a humiliating score of 3-0 to win the group on Sunday afternoon.
The goals were scored by Sinovuyo Booysen, Quinton Yekani and Victor Zweni.
The tournament got off to a good start with both teams eager to score the first goal. Last season's Geolfa Champions, Simunye, received their first free kick of the game just outside the box but they failed to convert. Simunye's target man, Siyabonga "Mpumlo" Miggels, launched another strong attack trying to unlock Young Blues defenders but his solo effort was well saved by Young Blues' goalkeeper Bathandwa Jacobs.
Young Blues responded with full force, attacking on the right side of the field employing the skills and the pace of Sinovuyo Booysen, who delivered dangerous balls inside the box.
A Young Blues player was fouled inside the box after a strong attack from the right side of the field but their penalty was not allowed after a malicious tackle from Simunye's defender. Mzuyanda "Yaya" Gqowa delivered a long-range shot from the centre of the field. His shot was denied by Young Blues' goalkeeper.
Young Blues received a free kick just outside the eighteen area, which was blocked by Simunye's back line. Sinovuyo Booysen scored the first goal of the game after a strong attack from the right side of the field. The Young Blues left-winger tried his luck, driving a dangerous shot just outside the box, but Simunye's goalkeeper, Awonke Muma, prevented the goal. Simunye received a corner kick, which also failed to lead to an equalising goal.

Vuyani Mgoqi of Young Blues received a beautiful pass from the centre of the field and sent off a powerful strike, but it went over the crossbar.
When the half-time whistle blew the score was 1-0.
The second half started at a fast pace. Quinton Yekani scored the second goal to make it 2-0 after a million-dollar pass from the centre of the field. Athenkosi Bhuda of Young Blues was doing everything right on the left wing, creating chances for his side.

Mzuyanda Gqowa launched another attack for Simunye on the right side of the field looking for the first goal for Simunye, but his attempt was denied by Jacobs. Victor Zweni scored the third goal for Young Blues after beautiful play from the centre of the field.
Both teams were on the attack and the Young Blues goalkeeper, Bathandwa Jacobs, had his hands full to block attempts fired by Simunye strikers, but no more goals were scored. The game ended 3-0.
