GEORGE NEWS - Western Tigers FC sank the struggling Thembalethu Brothers 2-0 in their last Geolfa League game of the season with goals scored by Mesuli Vuba and Odidi Mdinwa.
Luvuyo Langbooi, the Western Tigers goalkeeper, delivered a stellar performance in the game, while Mesuli Vuba was a thorn in the sides of Thembalethu Brothers defenders.
Western Tigers ended the season in the top eight positions on the log table, while Thembalethu Brothers were relegated to the Promotional League after the last league games on Sunday.
The first half saw both teams employing their best skills and playing the ball on the turf. Attempts at the goal by Lundi Aplain and Vuyisa Ntulo of Western Tigers were unsuccessful, but their teammate Mesuli Vuba played a phenomenal attacking game. Vuba scored the first goal of the match and the only one of the first half.
Thembalethu Brothers started the second half with a long-range shot, but again their shot was not good enough to beat Luvuyo Langbooi (tigers shotstopper).
On the left side, Vuyisa Ntulo of Western Tigers sent a delightful cross inside the box and found Odidi Mdinwa, who extended their lead on 2-0. Thembalethu Brothers gave away a penalty to Western Tigers, but Moses Lingani's shot went over the goal.
