SOCCER NEWS - The Safa Eden Regional League log leaders, Simunye FC, defeated Moonlight FC (Dysselsdorp) with a humiliating score of 7-2 at the Lawaaikamp Stadium on Saturday 22 February.
Simunye is currently sitting comfortably at the top of the table with 37 points, while the Dysselsdorp team is in fifth position with 30 points.
The visitors, Moonlight FC, started the game with great touches on the ball.
Moonlight opened the score courtesy of Luwiaan Campher, who outsmarted Simunye FC goalkeeper Nkosikhona Moss. They extended their lead to 2-0 when Waitlin Gertse broke through the Simunye back line. From there on, Simunye took over with attacking football.
Sesethu Jack scored Simunye's first goal from a penalty, making it 2-1, and just before the end of the first half Sahne Boyysen levelled the score on 2-2.
In the second half, Shane Booysen and Seseto Jack both scored their second goals and Siyabonga Miggels added to the score, making it 5-2. Azile Jack of Simunye scored the last two goals to make it 7-2.
