GEORGE NEWS AND GALLERY - A late goal in the second half from Ayone Fani helped the visitors from Paarl, Mbekweni Sundowns, to secure a 1-0 victory against the hope of the Eden Region, Black Cats FC, in their Western Cape ABC Motsepe Provincial League stream A game last weekend.
The game was played on Saturday afternoon, 12 March, at the Lawaaikamp Stadium. Mbekweni Sundowns centre right back Fudumele Ayabonga defended very well, as did their goalkeeper Pumutso Moholei who managed to ward off the attempts of the sensational Black Cats attacking winger Siphamandla "Malobolobo" Hlangabeza.
The home team have played 13 games so far with two victories, three draws and eight defeats, giving them nine points on the log table.

With no score in the first half, the second half saw both teams grinding for a goal, playing high tempo football.
Black Cats were pushing hard, with Siphamandla Hlangabeza, Xolani Mandla and Siphamandla Hlangabeza shining bright, but the Sundowns' defence was impenetrable.
The Paarl boys netted the sole goal of the game in the last minutes, after a world-class strike from the left wing. Despite their best efforts, Black Cats didn't manage a comeback and suffered another defeat at home.
