GEORGE NEWS - The George Local Football Association will host its annual Easter soccer tournament from Friday 29 March with the final scheduled to be played on Monday 1 April.
There will be 32 teams fighting for the first prize money of R20 000 plus the trophy and 25 gold medals.
The tournament draw was done on Thursday evening, 21 March at the Thembalethu Stadium clubhouse with a large group of young ladies present to support their respective teams.
The tournament will be played in different venues in George - Thembalethu Stadium, Lawaaikamp Stadium and at the Parkdene sport field.
Teams taking apart in this year's soccer festival are NMU, Heaven Stars, Black Cats 1, Young Masters, Eastern City, All Stars, Silver Stars, Thembalethu Brothers, France United, Raul Stars, Paris United, Young Pirates, Western Tigers, George Vultures, George Celtics, United Spurs, Tigers, Black Cats 2, Burning Fire 2, Future Stars, Real Pacaltsdorp, Celtics, Young Killers, Shukela, Fast Eleven, Simunye, Vista 2, Vuvuzela United, Burning Fire 1, Vista 1, Abahlali and Southern Academy.
The prizing structure is as follows:
1st Prize R20 000, trophy and 25 gold medals
2nd Prize R10 000 and 25 silver medals
3rd Prize R3 000
4th to 8th R1 000 each
