SOCCER NEWS - From two goals down, the Lawaaikamp giants, the Black Cats, delivered some magical moments to secure a 2-2 draw against Thembalethu outfit Paris United during the regional men’s league fixture on Saturday 28 February.
Mthembu ‘Mr Cool’ Mandla and Mphumzi ‘Scara’ Kalolo assured the draw for the Black Cats after they had trailed at half-time.
Anathi ‘Tower’ Mtshazi had given Paris United their early 1-0 lead with a powerful, well-placed header, beating Black Cats shot-stopper Sesethu ‘Senzo’ Nyhunyha just before their set piece.
Thamsanqa ‘Torre’ Kebe surprised everyone when he drove a long-range shot from the centre of the field to extend their lead to 2-0.
Both teams delivered offensive football, creating many exciting chances.
The struggling Paris United went ahead before the interval, however, Mandla scored for the Cats to make it 2-1, bringing the Lawaaikamp team back into the game.
The supporters were kept on the edge of their seats as the hard-working Kalolo pulled the powerful goal that levelled the score on 2-2 in the second half.
The results saw Paris United second from the bottom of the log with 11 points after playing 14 fixtures, while the Black Cats are in 12th position with 21points.
