CRICKET NEWS - The Garden Route Badgers will kick off their campaign for the new season this weekend with a trip to Willowmoore Park in Benoni to face the Easterns.

The domestic cricket structure has changed: the three-day (replaced former four-day matches for division 2) and a one-day match will be played back-to-back.

Coach Lotle Sesele has drafted various newcomers into the squad. The batting department will be bolstered by Janneman Malan, Slade van Staden, Modise Maloka and Ross Coetzee. Seam bolwer Nipho Mpungose will debut for the Badgers, as well as the all-rounder from the Titans, Leo Sadler.

Yaseen Valli will captain the team.
