GEORGE NEWS - The Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) is calling on passionate Georgians to step forward and volunteer for the committee heading up the Cansa Relay for Life George 2027.
Cansa is recruiting community members to help plan and execute this signature event, which honours cancer survivors, remembers loved ones lost to the disease and unites the community in raising support and awareness.
Zantel Swanevelder, sustainability co-ordinator at Cansa George’s offices, said anyone willing to lend a hand is welcome to apply, regardless of their background or previous event experience.
“No matter your skills or experience, there is a place for you in our Cansa Relay family.
"Together, we can continue building a community of hope and support for those whose lives have been touched by cancer,” she said.
The volunteer recruitment effort comes as Cansa marks 95 years of service in South Africa.
“By joining the local Relay for Life committee, residents can contribute their unique skills, from co-ordination and logistics to marketing and community outreach, to create an unforgettable event,” said Swanevelder.
Anyone interested may contact the Cansa office on 044 874 4824 or Swanevelder on 081 000 4086, or send an email to [email protected].
