GEORGE NEWS - Knysna Cavaliers (245/9) caused one of the biggest upsets in the Six Gun Grill SWD Premier League last weekend with a 133-run bonus-point victory against the defending champions, Pacaltsdorp United (128 all out).
For Cavaliers, who recorded this victory in the Pacaltsdorp's backyard, Maurice White (60*) and JP Ellis (59) excelled with the bat while Charl Francois Marais (6/29) was in superb form with the ball.
Plett Pioneers (128 all out) remain winless after the first half of the competition after a 13-run defeat against Harlequins Forces (141 all out).
Jermaine le Kay (69) was the batting hero for Harlequins, while Clayton Manewille (3/17) and Matthew Jansen (3/30) were their top bowlers.
In the only Promotion League match of the weekend, Pirates United (53/2) strengthened their position for a place in the semi-finals with an eight-wicket victory against Bongolethu (49 all out). Ruwyane Brinkhuys (7/23 with the ball) was the man of the match for Pirates.
