GEORGE NEWS - The air was filled with excitement and anticipation when parkrun lovers returned for 5km of running bliss in one of the country's most beautiful botanical gardens last Saturday, 13 November.
A total of 650 happy parkrunners wound their way through the tricky obstacles of trees, roots and rivers behind the Garden Route Botanical Garden at the foot of the Outeniqua Mountain.
Young and old were cheered on by the enthusiastic volunteers. "The parkrun fever has definitely returned," said George parkrun liaison officer Wayne Ryder.
"The George parkrun's first official relaunch was a complete success from start to finish. We were blown away with the unexpected huge attendance on a perfect day. We look forward to seeing you this coming Saturday again."
Ryder thanked the parkrun's "star performers", the 33 volunteers who made it all possible.
