SPORT NEWS - The Nedbank Running Club SWD honoured its Comrades Marathon* athletes with a special Milestone Breakfast at Bayleaf Café in Cathedral Street last Saturday, 25 July, celebrating their outstanding performances at the world's oldest and largest ultramarathon.

Several runners were recognised for reaching remarkable Comrades milestones. Joan van Wyngaard received recognition for completing her 10th, while Una Saayman celebrated her 20th medal. 

Eddie Mouton reached the impressive milestone of 30 medals, Jason Jafta earned his 33rd, and Selwyn Losper was honoured for completing an extraordinary 34.

The club also applauded athletes who delivered exceptional performances at this year's race. 

Carla Spangenberg finished 27th overall and recorded the fastest second-half split, while Nerida Lubbe claimed first place in the women's 50 to 59 age category.

Lloyd Bosman achieved an outstanding seventh-place overall finish.

Event organiser Naeem Cassim said they are incredibly proud of every athlete who represented the club at Comrades. "Your dedication, perseverance and determination continue to inspire us all," he said.
