GARDEN ROUTE ATHLETICS NEWS - Just over 400 runners took to the start of the Houtkapper Trail Run in Knysna two weeks ago in perfect weather conditions.
Spread out over the 9km, 15km and the 27km routes, runners enjoyed the breathtaking trails in the majestic Knysna Forest.
The 27km was won by Sean McGibbon in a time of 02:16:04 and the women's category by Jo Mackenzie in a time of 02:45:41.

The 15km was won by Rohan Swanepoel in a time of 01:19:34 and the women's category by Nanette Evenhuis in a time of 01:30:59.
The 9km was won by Yashin Raghavjee in a time of 47:02 and the women's category by Jess Devine in a record-breaking time of 50:50. Jess now holds the record for the fastest 9km women's time.

Kiddies were entertained with a Kabouter Kids race and some folks even took on the sack race. Deon Barnard of Quinta da Montanha organised all the entertainment offered during the Houtkapper Trail Run. Race partner Fechters, from Knysna, sponsered a beautiful wooden bench to a lucky winner.
