GEORGE ATHLETICS NEWS - The George 6 Peaks FKT Challenge took place last Saturday. This challenge involved summiting six of George's surrounding prominent mountain peaks on foot.
The trail runners first summited Vensterberg, going on to tackle Losberg, Cradock Peak, George Peak, Tierkop and Groenkop to complete their own fastest known time, referred to as FKT.
New fastest known times were set for both the men and ladies challengers, with locals Bruce Arnett finishing in a time of 7 hours and 9 minutes and Carine Gagiano in a time of 10 hours and 12 minutes.
George is very fortunate to have an amazing trail community and this was demonstrated again by all the helpers who seconded the challengers on the route.
