SCHOOL NEWS - Love and kindness filled the air at Gracehill College on Friday 13 February as the learners from preschool to senior phase celebrated Love and Kindness Day.
In the preschool, the little ones enjoyed a picnic, sharing healthy treats with their friends and learning the simple joys of generosity and friendship.
The foundation phase began their day with Friday assembly. Following the assembly, the learners made special crafts for their mums and dads, and each child received a sweet treat accompanied by an encouraging word.
The intermediate and senior phases added an element of friendly competition to the celebration with an internal door-decorating contest.
Each class transformed their classroom door into a creative expression of love and kindness. The creativity on display made judging exceptionally difficult.
After much deliberation, the intermediate phase prize was awarded to the Grade Five class under the guidance of teacher Jana Lottering. In the senior phase, the Grade Eight class, led by home room teacher Nicole Cloete, claimed the top honour.
