SCHOOL NEWS - Congratulations to the 2024 Oakhill matrics who have once again made themselves and the school incredibly proud, both individually and collectively, in their final Independent Examination Board (IEB) exams.
An impressive total of 94 distinctions was achieved by Oakhill's 34 matriculants, with an average of 2.77 distinctions per candidate.
In addition to the continuous record of a 100% pass rate since inception over 30 years ago, 33 of the candidates achieved a bachelor's degree pass (university exemption) which allows them access to tertiary institutions anywhere in the world.
Of the 94 distinctions, 21 were above 90% and three pupils placed in the top 1% of candidates in the country in a subject.
Of noteworthy mention is that the majority of Oakhill's subjects were above the IEB national average, and the 2024 Oakhill matrics achieved a grade average of 73%.
Larissa Gould-Wagenaar, a dedicated Oakhill student since Grade R, is set to pursue a degree in psychology in the United States. Throughout her time at Oakhill, Larissa excelled in subjects like life sciences and history, and led outreach initiatives as Interact President. Grateful for the school's supportive environment, she looks forward to continuing her education and pursuing her dream of becoming a clinical psychologist.
