The Minister for Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning in the Western Cape has welcomed the decision by the Constitutional Court this afternoon pertaining to this year’s local government election.

Anton Bredell, the Minister for Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning in the Western Cape said: "The department of Local Government in the Western Cape is prepared for the coming elections and will be able to ensure a smooth transition following the elections."
The Premier of the Western Cape, Alan Winde, said: "We have had five years to prepare for elections and where aware of COVD-19. We will be ready in the Western Cape. Democratic processes like regular elections are the cornerstones of any democracy and we welcome the Constitutional Court’s decision.”
George Herald is awaiting comment from all the other parties on the court's decision and will add their comment as soon as it is received.
