NATIONAL NEWS - Chairperson of the African National Congress (ANC) Baleka Mbete says the party is more than ready to be led by women in key positions.
Mbete says it’s evident because three women are now contesting for the top position.
The presidential hopeful says that she believes that the quality of leadership from women would be as good as compared to their male counterparts.
She was speaking to students at the Tshwane University Technology Soshanguve campus on Thursday night where she gave a lecture about the life and times of Charlotte Maxeke.
Mbete says that women within the ANC have expressed a thirst for leadership roles and it is long overdue that they be recognised.
“It’s clear that the quality of leadership from women would be as good.”
