NATIONAL NEWS - A woman’s body was found near a bridge at Gezubuso in Pietermaritzburg with several gunshot wounds on Sunday.
Pietermaritzburg police spokesperson, Sergeant Sifiso Gwala, said the woman, who is estimated to be in her early 30s, was found with an open wound on her face and several gunshot wounds.
Gwala said the body has not yet been identified. She was wearing blue jeans, a pink jersey with black boots. She had short hair and was fair in complexion.
“The police are still investigating the circumstances of where the deceased might have been shot. We appeal to the members of the community to report any of their members if they have gone missing as soon as possible at their nearest police station,” said Gwala.
He added police were investigating a case of murder.
