NATIONAL NEWS – The Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison this morning confirmed that eight people had been killed on the R38 yesterday afternoon in Barberton, and not seven as reported earlier.
According to the department’s spokesman, Mr Joseph Mabuza, the eight were killed instantly when a truck collided with a minibus on the R38 Road between Badplaas and Barberton.
“It is believed that the driver of the truck lost control before it crashed into the minibus taxi,” Mabuza said.
The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
