Should a fuel supply arrangement be finalised in time, the scheduled flights, promised by Tshwane mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa during his state of the capital address in May, were only expected to take off in October, the DA said on Tuesday.
DA spokesperson for transport, Francois Bekker, expressed grave concern that the announcement by Ramokgopa would eventually turn out to merely be pie in the sky.
He said the chronic fuel supply problem at Wonderboom airport had been a hampering factor for more than five years already.
