Ipid head Robert McBride is challenging the police minister powers to unilaterally remove the head of the organisation.
McBride was suspended for allegedly altering a report into the so-called rendition investigation, which implicated senior Hawks officials in the rendition of Zimbabwean suspects in 2010.
Nhleko wants the Ipid head’s assertions that he is motivated by an ulterior purpose and improper motive struck out from his affidavits.
He also doesn’t want the judge to consider the claim that a reasonable member of the public is aware of his campaign to rid the police of senior Hawks officials, which have created perceptions of interference.
