NATIONAL NEWS - A man was found dead after his car crashed into a swimming pool in Westville, Durban, on Wednesday morning.
According to Redline Response spokesperson Derrick Banks, the car was found submerged under water in a swimming pool in a private residence.
He added that Redline paramedics along with police and T-Towing were able to move the car slightly to ascertain if there was anybody in the vehicle.
“One man believed to be the driver was found in the car. Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased on scene by paramedics,” said Banks.
Banks added that it is unclear how the driver lost control and ended up in the pool, however, the man’s family, said that the deceased left home just before 8pm the night before and never came home.
“The neighbours say that they heard a loud bang just after midnight and woke up in the morning to find the man’s car upside down in their swimming pool,” said Banks.
He added that all necessary authorities were on scene and would investigate the incident further.
