Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 38 °C in Tshwane and 36 °C in Johannesburg by Friday.
The South African Weather Service says the extremely hot weather conditions in the province and parts of Mpumalanga, Limpopo and the North West, are expected to last until at least Sunday.
Forecaster Edwin Themsa says there’s little chance of rain for the next few days.
“For Gauteng, at this stage it looks like not much [rain] is expected over the next seven days, so there are still dry conditions expected.”
