NATIONAL NEWS - The Congress of South African Students (COSAS) in the Western Cape will be lodging an official racism complaint with the SA Human Rights Commission against Grandwest casino in Cape Town and against the Israeli Embassy over racism experienced at the recent Ice Hockey Game.
The complaint will be made tomorrow Friday the 24th April at 2pm.
COSAS has saw first-hand that Israel and its security have no respect for non-racialism. The recent events that transpired at Grandwest Casino (http://iolmobile.co.za/#!/article/sa-israel-ice-hockey-match-disrupted-1.1846937), exposed us to the racism Palestinians are exposed to daily by the Israeli Apartheid State.
We had purchased tickets to attend an Ice Hockey match last week Thursday, with the intention of protesting against the hosting and legitimising of the apartheid state of Israel, but we not allowed our right to enter. It was clear that our members were being separated and denied entry based on our skin colour.
This kind of racism is exactly what we had come to protest against and therefore we will need to take action. Grandwest Casino claim to have footage, they must hand it over un-edited for the SA Human Rights commissioners to examine. Their video footage will clearly expose them for racially profiling us, then denying black people entry.
The men in black, who told us they worked for Israeli ambassador Arthur Lenk and were very brutal and violent towards us. They made racist remarks and the security of Grandwest casino were implicated.
We will be making a complaint at the SA Human Rights Commission against Israeli Ambassador Arthur Lenk, the Embassy of the Apartheid State of Israel, as the security indicated that he had told them not to black people in and against Grandwest as they were the venue and are responsible .
There is no Israeli occupied territory in South Africa and we want the human rights commission to hold the Israeli Emabssy and Grandwest Casino accountable.
