Three former directors, including President Jacob Zuma’s nephew Khulubuse Zuma, applied for leave to appeal after a ruling which found they recklessly managed the gold mines they took over.
Judge Eberhard Bertelsmann says there can be no doubt that they acted recklessly and that there is no way that a different court will come to another conclusion.
“The mines deteriorated financially in all managerial respects from the moment the applicants took control thereof. They had to be placed into care and maintenance without nay funds having been obtained to rescue them.
