WEATHER NEWS - The Cape Town Weather Office has issued an impact based Level 2 warning for Damaging Waves from 11 - 12 July.
Areas to be affected: Bitou, George, Hessequa, Knysna & Mossel Bay.
A cold front is expected to affect the Western Cape on Friday. This will result in south-westerly waves of 4.5 to 5.5m as well as wave periods of 10–13s between Hondeklip Bay and Plettenberg Bay on Friday until Saturday afternoon.
Windy conditions (40 to 60km/h) can also be expected along the south western and southern coasts.
Large unpredictable waves along the coast resulting in difficulty in navigation at sea and the risk of small vessels taking on water and capsizing in a locality, is expected between Hondeklip Bay and Plettenberg Bay on Friday into Saturday afternoon.
