NATIONAL NEWS - A sleeping couple was attacked on their farm in Klopperbos near Hammanskraal on Saturday morning, police have confirmed.
Hammanskraal police spokesperson Sergeant Margaret Molane confirmed that the victim and his wife were asleep when they were woken by two men.
“The suspects tied up the victims and proceeded to steal various items from them, including cell phones, two television sets and a firearm,” said Molane.
No injuries were reported.
In another case at around 07:15 a woman was assaulted by a man on a plot in Mooiplaas.
AfriForum’s Thomas van Dalen said the woman’s handbag with her purse inside was stolen.
“She was stabbed in the hand with a screwdriver,” said Van Dalen.
The police could not confirm the incident.
AfriForum reported two other incidents via social media on Saturday. One, south of Bloemfontein in the Free State, and the other near Brits in North West.
