NATIONAL NEWS - This was announced on Wednesday morning during a press conference held by the Municipal Manager, Dikgape Makobe, who said the aim of the water-shedding process is to supply water in equal amounts to higher-lying areas, in which residents often go without water for weeks on end as reservoir levels remain low.
The water-shedding will apply to urban and rural areas in the Polokwane precinct.
Water supply will be cut off from 20:00 to 04:00 every day to enable reservoir levels to be replenished.
Residents in high-lying areas will have water at around 06:00 and then again in the evenings for basic household use.
Rural areas will receive water on three to four days a week.
Ward councillors will explain the necessity of these steps to residents in their wards.
