Johan Kotze will now try for a third time to overturn his murder conviction for killing his estranged wife Ina Bonnette’s son in January 2012.
The state and defence lawyers are now waiting for a date on which they will meet again in the Constitutional Court to argue for and against the appeals of Kotze and his accomplice.
He was also jailed for kidnapping, assault and attempted murder.
In 2013, Kotze first failed in the High Court in Pretoria to apply for leave to appeal and then also a few months later, in the Supreme Court of appeal.
