GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - Due to the recent rain, Meiringspoort remains closed and will stay closed for at least the next two days, as the river is still flowing strongly with more rain expected today, Tuesday 29 October.
Before reopening, a road engineer will inspect for any potential damage.
Additionally, Swartberg Pass will remain closed until further notice.
Some of the low water bridges in Oudtshoorn are closed to traffic. Please do not attempt to cross any bridges that are overflowing, as this poses extreme danger.
Closed bridges are those on Rademeyer, Albert, Kerk, and Van Der Riet Streets.
Please also monitor Bloem, Vrede, St John, Victoria, and Noord Streets. If you see water flowing over these bridges, do not attempt to cross.
Stay safe and use alternate routes where available.
