NATIONAL NEWS - You’ve watched pioneering explorer, Riaan Manser, cycle 34000 km around the perimeter of the African continent, kayak around both Madagascar and Iceland and successfully cross the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
To some it might sound crazy yet to others it seems like the ideal profession. The saying goes: “Ability is nothing without opportunity” and boy do we have an opportunity of a lifetime for you.
We are looking for an inspirational South African to join Manser this December on an all expenses paid vacation to the Caribbean.... now before you get all excited... there is a catch!
You will be braving the mighty Atlantic Ocean in a seven meter ocean rowing boat from Canary Islands to Barbados. Yes, rowing...
The process will include a judging panel who will select the top 50 entrants by fine combing through all applications. Interviews will follow after which our top 10 finalists will be announced.
The top 10 will move on to a gruelling 3 day boot camp in Cape Town where training will start to ready the applicants for life on the ocean. From here the top 5 will go to Durban for the final boot camp where they will be put through their paces under the watchful eye of the judges.
The route to be taken.
The Judges will then have the challenging task of selecting the victor and reserve which will be announced at a gala event soon after. You’ll need guts and determination but most importantly, the right attitude. Be brave and enter, in the end we only regret the chances we did not take.
