INTERNATIONAL NEWS - Emergency assistance contacts have been circulated for South Africans in the Middle East following Iranian air strikes on the Middle East.
In response to the situation, humanitarian organisation Gift of the Givers has urged South Africans currently in Middle Eastern countries to remain alert and to make contact with diplomatic missions if assistance is required.
The organisation said individuals who had previously registered with embassies were already contacted and advised on precautionary measures, including leaving high-risk areas before the latest attacks.
Emergency contact numbers have been provided in coordination with the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) missions across the region.

The organisation has called on the public to circulate the emergency information widely to ensure that all South Africans in affected areas are able to access support if needed.
