According to a report by Britain's Autocar, only 379 Jettas were sold in the UK between January 1st and October, making it one of the worst performing models after the Beetle and the now discontinued Scirocco. The publication also alleges that order books for the Jetta closed in September.
Despite leaking online back in August in its apparent US guise with the new model due to finally use the same MQB platform as the Golf, its culling in the UK has seemingly confirmed previous reports that Volkswagen will no longer be building the Jetta in right-hand drive, meaning the potential end of sales in South Africa as well.
