US publication, Car and Driver, reports that the Ram 1500 based Rebel TRX concept could feature a series of off-road hardware and updated frame, as well the 6.2-litre supercharged Hemi V8 doing duty in the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat albeit detuned to around "600 horsepower" (447 kW) instead of the monstrous 527 kW.
Shown at the Texas State Fair last year, the concept uses the same engine but with power rated at 575 horsepower (428 kW). Expected to be backed-up by a eight-speed TorqueFlight automatic gearbox, the TRX will comfortably out power the 335 kW 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 engine Raptor, with pricing in the States forecasted to start at around $55 000 (R740 467.)
Regardless if it becomes a reality or not, don't expect the Rebel TRX to reach local shores anytime soon as it will be made in left-hand-drive only.
