This clearly sets the updated Clio range apart from its rivals, while offering owners a distinct advantage in terms of day-to-day practicality.

STAY CONNECTED
The new 2012 Renault Clio Yahoo!, which is the new entry-level model in the range, includes a list of equipment and technology specifically aimed at keeping its occupants connected.
The highly rated Parrot system is neatly integrated into the cabin, and accessed via a simple controller unit. It is covered by the Clio's standard five-year warranty. In addition, the Clio Yahoo! boasts an MP3-compatible radio/CD player with an RCA auxiliary audio jack for connecting personal media players, plus the convenience of the Clio's remote audio controls.
As the successor to the outgoing Dynamique derivative, the upmarket Clio Avantage raises the bar further. Its multimedia functionality sets the benchmark for the compact segment by incorporating integrated TomTom LIVE navigation as standard.
This innovative system includes the outstanding functionality of the fully integrated Carminat TomTom navigation system, which is now bolstered by the addition of LIVE Services.
These include Google Local Search, as well as real-time HD traffic and weather updates - all of which can be accessed by means of the supplied remote control and viewed on the large 15cm centre-mounted full colour display.
The Avantage also boasts fully integrated Bluetooth functionality, a multimedia connection box that offers auxiliary iPod and USB line-in options and Renault's Bluetooth audio streaming.
DETAILS
The 2012 Clio range relies on the engine and transmission package of the current model. The 1 598cc 16-valve powerplant is credited with 83kW and 151Nm. The Clio claims a 0 to 100km/h time of 10.2 sec, and it is said toreach 190km/h. At the same time it is capable of a combined cycle fuel consumption of 6.7l/100km, with a corresponding carbon emissions rating of only 157g/km.
A five-speed manual transmission is standard on the Clio Yahoo!, Clio Yahoo! Plus and Clio Avantage.
As a fourth derivative in the range, the Clio is also available in Avantage specification with a four-speed automatic gearbox.
The Clio III has a maximum five-star Euro NCAP safety rating to its credit.
The fitment of driver, passenger and side airbags is standard across the range. Curtain airbags are additionally included in the top-spec Avantage.
The body includes a reinforced structure with programmed deformation zones designed to absorb greater energy in the event of a collision.
ACTIVE SAFETY
In terms of active safety, the Clio is equipped with an all-disc braking system featuring ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA).
The power steering also adapts to the car's speed, thus providing greater feedback and control. As far as security is concerned, it features the Renault Anti Intrusion Device (RAID), auto-locking doors on pull-off and the MicroDot System (MDS) for added peace of mind.
The Clio Avantage is fitted with the latest TomTom LIVE integrated navigation system. The benefit of TomTom Live is a real-time traffic feed, linked to automatic rerouting around areas of congestion to minimise delays. For users of the system, this will generally mean less wasted time in traffic.
The system features IQ Routes which proposes itineraries based on real world traffic flow statistics and Advanced Lane Guidance which provides advanced views of junctions and lanes.
Renault Confiance is included as standard with every model, guaranteeing leading levels of after sales support.
For the 2012 Clio range, the previous three-year service plan has been extended to a competitive four years or 60 000km, which is tailored to suit the Clio's 15 000km service intervals. This is backed up by a five-year or 150 000km mechanical warranty, a six-year anti-corrosion warranty, as well as a five-year or 150 000km, 24-hour roadside assistance plan.
This is supported by a "Stand by You" security guard service for added peace-of-mind in the event of a breakdown.
