Restricted to just 44 units worldwide with only five being allocated for sale in right-hand drive and only in the United Kingdom at £176 560 (R3 135 067) apiece, the Performance Parts R8 uses the all-wheel drive V10 Coupe plus as a base, but adds a bespoke aerodynamics kit claimed to generate 250kg of downforce at top speed, lightweight, milled 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Cup 2 rubber, carbon ceramic brakes all around, sports exhaust, three-way adjustable suspension, Audi Sport badged side skirts, a new front splitter, wider air inlets and R8 GT derived moulded canards.
Highlighting the interior is Audi’s Virtual Cockpit Display, MMI Navigation, Alcantara trimmed sports steering wheel with red 12 o’clock marking, perforated nappa leather bucket seats, a reverse camera, Audi Smartphone interface and Audi Connect online service.
Only available in Misano Red, the 5.2-litre V10 motor is kept as is with outputs of 449kW/560Nm, fed to all four wheels via a seven-speed S tronic gearbox. Capable of generating 100kg of downforce more than the normal plus Coupe, the added parts has not had an effect on performance, with the 0-100km/h sprint still taking 3.2 seconds and the top speed being 330km/h.
