Initially expected to go on sale in 2022 as indicated by the brand’s strategy layout presented in June by late former CEO Sergio Marchionne, Australia’s motoring.com.au now alleges that the carbon fibre monocoque chassis 8C will only touchdown in 2023, despite it not being part of new Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) CEO and former Jeep brand boss, Mike Manley’s plans for discussion with Italian unions.
Expected to still follow the Giulia based GTV also set to revived but due in 2021, the 8C will come powered by a twin-turbocharged petrol engine boosted by an electric motor for a rumoured output of 522kW, which will allow it to reach 100km/h from standstill in a claimed three seconds.
