The stars of Neville’s diorama were different Mini Coopers - in the movie the gold was loaded into the Minis boots and a mad car chase pursued between the robbers and the cops.
Unfortunately Neville did not have any diorama competition this year as Kevin Taylor, who has won umpteen times with his dioramas, was away.
The club had a minutes silent for June Guérin who died a day before this year’s annual diorama competition.
June regularly presented the Rod Guérin trophy, in honour of her late husband, to the winner and her presence was missed at the Natal Diecast Model Collectors (NDMC) last meeting for 2016.
The club elected Richard Hebbron as the “Enthusiast of the Year” and he was presented with the Geoff Sear Floating Trophy.
The NDMC will hold its first meeting in 2016 on 25 January at the VCC in Kloof. For more details contact the chairman, Philip Ellis 031 266 3138 or 072 281 8921 or visit the website here.

Don’t you wish you had looked after your grandfather’s Dinky cars, they could be worth a fortune today.
