Derived from the ST and offered only on the mid-range Trend hatchback, the optional (R19 984) styling pack consist of a model specific colour coded bodykit, tilt and sliding electric sunroof, boot spoiler, multi-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels, active bi-xenon headlights with daytime running LEDs, dual-zone climate control, heated and folding mirrors and rear privacy glass.

Available on the Trend sedan as well, the revised (R17 089) Driver Assistance pack not only features Advanced Active Park Assist, Lane Departure Warning, reverse camera and Lane Keep Assist, but also Ford's upgraded SYNC 3 infotainment system with satellite navigation.

The third model after the Everest and Ranger to benefit from SYNC 3, the eight-inch touchscreen display gets upgraded icons, real-world voice commands and ability to provide guidance in a number of languages. Although providing smartphone integration, licenses for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are still being finalised.

At the sharp end, rear parking sensors are now fitted as standard on both the ST1, ST3 and RS, with a reverse camera debuting on the ST3. A 10-speaker sound system with subwoofer and SYNC 3 can be had as an options on the ST3 and RS.

Underneath the bonnet, the Focus retains its range of three and four cylinder EcoBoost engines, with the biggest shake-up being the addition of a new 1.5 TDCi diesel engine in place of the long serving 1.6 TDCi. Essentially the same unit recently launched in the revised Transit Connect, the new oil burner produces 88 kW and 270 Nm, and is linked exclusively to a six-speed manual gearbox.

A four year / 120 000 km warranty and four year / 80 000 km service plan are standard on all models.
