While little continues to be known about the newcomer, speculation continues to mount that it would be underpinned by Volvo's all-new Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) shared with future 40 models, and likely feature a downsized range of petrol and diesel engines, including a new 1.5-litre turbocharged three-pot of the former.
Expect the XC40 to make its official debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in April.
