Spotted in Avant bodystyle back in September also completely bare, the sedan looks almost identical to the regular A6 in S line form, but gains quad exhaust outlets, a revised redesigned front bumper with wider vents, chrome slats at the base of the doors, a slightly lowered ride height and sportier alloy wheels.
Captured by the Automotive Mike YouTube page standing idle at a petrol station close to the Green Hell, the sedan, like the Avant, will come with a model specific interior set to include an S optimised Virtual Cockpit Display, aluminium and Alcantara inserts, S6 badged sport seats, an S flat-bottom sport steering and unique upholstery finishes.
The same will also apply up front where the 4.0 TFSI V8 will make way for the 2.9 TFSI V6 used in a number Porsche products, outputting 331kW/600Nm. The change in engine will also result in the seven-speed S tronic gearbox making way for an eight-speed Tiptronic, although Audi’s famed quattro all-wheel drive system will remain, with the combination set to result in the S6 completing the 0-100km/h dash in around five seconds, before it tops out at 250km/h.
Initially thought to have debuted at the recent Paris Motor Show, the S6 is now only expected to bow next year possibly at the Geneva Motor Show in March, where after it will be surpassed at the top of the A6 range by the RS6 that will retain the aforementioned bent-eight motor, but with a rumoured output of 445kW.
