MOTORING NEWS - About 200 spectators gathered at the George Round Table grounds in York Street on Saturday 10 September when BMW George with BWM Motorrad, George Round Table and Country Trax Off-road Riding Academy hosted an open day to promote adventure biking.
The 23 bikers who participated also raised funds for the George Moths club.
The day included test riding, skills tests to test riders' abilities, demonstration riding and free riding.
In the dual challenge Derick van Rensburg took first place, Kyle Boltman second and Brad Fuller third. Fourth place went to Chantel Blake-Visser, who was also the first lady to cross the finish line.
In the slow race, George's own Brad Fuller came first, with Jaco Hanekom second and Derick van Rensburg third.
The George 30 Round Table had food and refreshments for sale, while a raffle was held with three lucky draw winners.
R3 000 was raised for the George Moths, while R1 000 went to the Moths motorcycle association's Abandoned Babies project.
