GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - A cold front will impact the Western Cape on Thursday morning, 17 July, bringing south-westerly waves of 4.5 to 6.0 meters.
This will result in damaging waves affecting areas from Plettenberg Bay to Saldanha Bay on Thursday afternoon, spreading to Alexander Bay on Friday, 18 July.
Windy conditions (40-60 km/h) are expected along the south-western and southern coastlines on Thursday afternoon.
Affected Areas: Western Cape and Namaqua Impacts:
- The public is at risk of being swept off coastal rocks due to the frequent occurrence of large waves.
- Small vessels are at risk of capsizing in navigation at sea.
- Localized disruptions to port and harbour activities for a short period.
- Localized disruptions to beachfront activities are also likely.
