GEORGE NEWS - The bedding and securing of the Oewer Street water pipe is progressing well.
The work will be completed by midday Friday 26 November.
As of 09:00 this morning, the Eastern Bulk Pipeline has been opened to pump at 100% capacity, with all interconnecting distribution pipelines opened in its entirety.
The network continues to fill up but due to high consumption by consumers, the refilling and build up of pressure will continue to take time.
The municipality urges residents to please use water sparingly and to continue limiting their use of water to ONLY necessities as reservoirs are presently at approximately 25% capacity.
The network is only expected to stabilize by Saturday 27 November.
