GEORGE NEWS - Residents and visitors are encouraged to enjoy the final weekend of the school holidays, as warm weather is expected across the George municipal area.
As families make the most of the outdoors, George Municipality reminds everyone to take a few simple precautions to stay safe and comfortable.
Please keep the following in mind:
- If you’re travelling, hiking or spending time outdoors, carry sufficient drinking water, wear sunscreen and hats, and take regular breaks in the shade.
- Beach conditions are expected to be moderate, and all beachgoers are urged to exercise caution.
- Anglers and fishermen, whether fishing from the rocks or from the beach, should remain alert to changing sea conditions and avoid dangerous areas.
- Lifeguards will be on duty at all designated swimming beaches - please swim only in marked areas and follow lifeguard instructions.
- Parents and caregivers are reminded to keep a close eye on children at all times. As a reminder, the consumption of alcohol is not permitted on beaches or in public areas.
