UPDATE N2, @ 10:43 - Traffic flow has resumed on the N2 (accident site after Gwaing River Bridge) with one lane opened in direction George. Motorists are requested to please proceed with caution.
GEORGE NEWS - A truck driver sustained minor injuries after the truck he was driving toppled over on the N2 and burst into flames earlier this morning.
According to initial information the driver lost control of the vehicle near the Gwaiing River bridge where road works are currently taking place.
Both incoming lanes from Mossel Bay to George have been closed for traffic and motorists are asked to please make use of the airport road as the N2 entering George will remain closed for at least the next two hours while clearing up operations are taking place.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident. The truck was transporting milk.
