SEDGEFIELD NEWS AND VIDEO - An accident outside Sedgefield, towards George, in the early hours of this morning, Friday 5 May, caused an oil/diesel spill that has led to major traffic delays near the Swartvlei turn-off.

According to information provided by Department of Transport and Public Works spokesperson Jandré Bakker, four vehicles were involved in the accident. 

Three of the vehicles were travelling towards Knysna, while the remaining one was travelling towards George.

The exact nature of the accident was not clarified by Bakker, but he did confirm that there were no fatalities.

While the road was initially closed to all traffic, there is now a stop-and-go in place to help manage the traffic flow and ease traffic congestion.
