GEORGE NEWS - The whole family is invited to the Touw River Revival Arbor Environmental day on Saturday 2 September at the Touw River estuary on Waterside Road opposite Serenity Ocean Lodge.
The event will be celebrating nature and sustainability by rehabilitating 300m² at the estuary. The aim is restoration, raising awareness about the environment, and promoting a greener future while celebrating with art and music. It will start at 09:00 and conclude at about 16:00.
The public is invited to join the event and help planting 500+ indigenous species including trees, fynbos, shrubs, ground covers, and medicinal plants. There will also be nature talks, music and art making.
The partners in the event are: SANParks, Cape Nature, DFFE, Kaelvoet Consulting, Lady of the Herbs, Janet Botes, Tree Whisperer, Garden Roots, Into the Wilderness, WRRA, Touw River Conservancy, FINREL, Landmark Foundation, Cape EA Prac, Indalo Harmony and the Botanical Society of South Africa.
This is a free family event.
Remember to bring your own planting tool and gloves, a sun hat and sunscreen, water bottle and covered shoes.
