GEORGE NEWS - Four people died when their shack was razed to the ground at about 03:00 in Asazania, Thembalethu, on Saturday 3 April.
The bodies were burned beyond recognition and Thembalethu police are awaiting DNA results to confirm the identities.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson, Sgt Chris Spies, a member of the public noticed the shack was on fire and alerted authorities.
"Emergency services personnel responded when they discovered the remains of four occupants on the scene. The occupants - two women, a man and a two-year-old toddler, were all burned beyond recognition," Spies said.
Circumstances surrounding the cause of the fire are under investigation.
