Theresa Jeyi new Chief Whip of Council

Update

GEORGE NEWS - The DA's Theresa Jeyi was elected as the new Chief Whip of Council, following the resignation of DA's Marlene Barnard who previously served in the position.

Jerome Petersen of the PBI was nominated by Samuel Vorster of the PA. Jeyi won with 31 votes against 19 for Petersen.

Jeyi is known as a live wire who speaks her mind in Council.

Representatives for the Garden Route District Council are as follows: Iona Kritzinger, Stag Cronjé and Monique Simmers. They replace Gert van Niekerk, Justin Fry and Donovan Gultig.

Marlene Barnardt resigned as Chief Whip of Council.
